Project Intro

Lavingia Jewels needed more than a website 💻✨ With stores in Tanzania and Zambia most of their customer base was offline. The bigger vision was to grow online and eventually expand into new markets like Sweden This project was about giving them a clean, scalable digital foundation that matched their luxury positioning 💎 and could handle e-commerce when the time was right 🚀

Context + Problem

There was no website No catalogue No visual system they could rely on. Jewellery photos were inconsistent and lacked detail 📸 which meant they couldn’t be used for serious online marketing. Over 100 products needed to be photographed, edited, and presented at a professional standard 🔍 Internally there was no process, no setup, and no workflow to manage production at scale. This wasn’t just a website build. It was about building systems the team could actually run themselves ⚙️

Site Launch + Product Photography

Project Intro

Lavingia Jewels needed more than a website. With physical stores in Tanzania and Zambia, most of their customer base was built offline. But their long-term plan was to grow online and expand into new markets, including Sweden. This project was about creating a clean, scalable digital foundation that matched their luxury positioning and could support future ecommerce.

Context + Problem

There was no existing website. No catalogue. No reliable visual system. Their jewellery photos lacked detail and consistency, which made them unusable for serious online marketing. More than 100 products needed to be shot, edited, and presented at a high standard. Internally, the team had no setup or workflow to handle production at scale. This wasn’t just a website build. It was a systems project — one the team could run without outside help.

Design Goals

  • Showcase jewellery cleanly on mobile 📱

  • Make it easy for the team to manage content after launch 👩‍💻

  • Build scalable systems for future ecommerce 🛒

  • Reflect luxury quality through visuals and copy 💫

Approach

We mapped the site around how customers naturally browse: by gemstone, metal, or collection. A WooCommerce-ready WordPress was customised so future sales could be switched on without complicating the first launch. The design stayed clean and mobile-first with plenty of breathing room for the jewellery to shine.

On the photography side, I set up the full studio workflow from scratch. We sourced macro lenses 🔬 and lighting 💡 then built a repeatable system for capturing and processing every piece. The priority wasn’t just quality. It was making sure the team could replicate the process long after launch.

Process

We shot more than 100 pieces, each from multiple angles. Every angle was built from over 10 stacked images to capture fine detail. A custom Photoshop script and editing flow cut production time by 40 percent ⚡ while keeping a luxury finish. The entire system was documented and handed off so the internal team could keep scaling.

  • Delivered 500+ final images in under 3 months

  • Developed editing presets, naming conventions, and retouching steps

  • Trained the internal team on upload and content updates

  • Designed a visual system that works across all future product lines

Results

The website launched as a clean, professional catalogue that finally reflected the quality of Lavingia’s jewellery 💍 In the first three months it pulled over 1,500 unique visitors 👀 with an average session time of 3 minutes 15 seconds ⏱️ which is above impressive for Tanzanian market.

The internal team can now manage content and upload new products on their own 🙌 Offline inquiries jumped by 40 percent with customers calling, visiting stores, and sliding into DMs to ask about specific items they saw online 💌

The tools are in place. The visuals finally match the brand. And Lavingia is ready for what comes next 🚀
